Colt Ford “Thanks Listening” [Album Review]
“Thanks For Listening”
Review By: Jesse James
Colt Ford has delivered more than his fair share of good times over the years, as this hick-hop legend blends together his smooth flow with some twanging country. With this album Colt is coming straight out of the gate swinging with both guns blazin’ and it shows in the songs. The album opens with the title track “Thanks For Listening” and sets the bar high for the rest of the record, as Colt raises a glass to the fans who continued to support him throughout the years.
Like every other Colt Ford album, there are a number of guests that drop by to help stir up an intoxicating mixture of tracks. Keith Urban lends powerful hooks to “She’s Like” that features an absolutely blistering guitar solo, Lee Brice slows things down with Colt on “Sip It Slow”, while the first single, “The High Life” featuring Chase Rice is a classic Colt Ford track. Suprisingly enough, one of the album’s best tracks just happens to be the track “Cut ‘Em All”, that features Duck Dynasty’s head honcho Willie Robertson. Colt found a way to work in Willie’s verse and not have it sound completely out of context.
“Thanks For Listening” is a celebration of years of hard work for Colt Ford, as he delivers one of his most powerful album’s yet. Thank you Colt Ford, for delivering another ass kicking album that will provide the soundtrack to country our summer.
