[Interview]: Pruno Talks About Touring With Moonshine Bandits, Redneck Souljers & Crucifix
Josh “Pruno” Gamble has been kicking ass and taking names since he announced he signed with the Moonshine Bandits MSB Entertainment label for the release of his new album, “Trailer on Tanner Road”. Now Pruno is about to hit the road with the Moonshine Bandits, Redneck Souljers, and Crucifix on the Rebel on The Run 2 Tour which just kicked off.
Rebel Row caught up with Pruno to talk about the tour, how he plans to kill the down time, and what tracks he plans on incorporating into his set on the tour.
Rebel Row: What is your favorite memory from touring from the Moonshine Bandits so far?
Pruno: Most memorable times on the road with MSB was the time I went to Down South Offroad Park in Crosby Texas. The hospitality and love shown was out of this world. Grumpy from Lottadebt Offroad Crew handed me the key to his lifted Polaris and said “”GET SOME!”, I figured it’s time to play and I did. Smashing through the mud with a Jaeger Bomb or two in hand, cranking waterproof sound system and DVD screen playing songs like Divebar Beauty Queen, For the Outlawz etc. A year before that, I have just got out of prison and experiencing something like this was just phenomenal and unforgettable.
RR: Do you approach this tour differently than a regular one-off show?
Pruno: I am very excited MSB has given me the opportunity to be part of the “Rebels on the Run” Tour. This will be my first time to be on a nationwide tour. This tour will be a little different for me but I am prepared to rock out. Hopefully these Shiners at these shows are ready for some Pruno.
RR: You done a little bit of touring but this is your first extensive tour run. How do you combat being away from loved ones for extensive periods of time on the road?
Pruno: Being away from home is tough. I have a great Family who supports me 132% and more.So to combat missing my home and family i plan on calling daily sending as many texts as my phone will allow and skyping anywhere i can get service on my phone. But besides that I have plenty of pictures to look at every night before bed and my fiancee doused a stuffed animal in Katy Perry perfume to remember how good Daddy has it at home.
RR: What city are you most looking forward to playing on this tour?
Pruno: I will have to say I am really looking forward to performing with the Bandits at the Gas Monkey Bar n Grill in Dallas Texas. From what I understand that this is an awesome venue. Known for big named artists and great performances.
RR: Any idea how you will kill down time or days off on tour?
Pruno: Besides brainstorming on new music, I would love to see some historic places and try food that I haven’t had the chance to try. Hopefully all this come together and become an inspiration for a song.
RR: How do you decide which tracks to perform on the road off “Trailer on Tanner Road”?
Pruno: Songs I pick out from the album “Trailer on Tanner Rd.” that I use for shows are the ones that have most impact on me and would love to share it with the people listening.
RR: It’s been a year since the release of your debut album, what can we expect next from Pruno?
Pruno: As of right now, I am currently working on a project and mixing a few things around on this one. Lots of heavy instruments, 808 boom in full effect with some banjo and fiddle twang twisting.
