Colt Ford Live Review
Des Moines, IA @ Iowa State Fair
August 12th, 2014

The greasy fair food, gallons of beer, noise from the games and a sold out show. Colt Ford rolls that outlaw country music to Iowa State Fair.

With a slight breeze in the air blowing the US flag attached to his mic stand. As colt takes the stage Iowa is ready to show him how to party with a huge cheer. Starting off the night with “Answer To No One” the fans go crazy. As Colt Ford tells us a story of how he was raised through music.

With Colt’s vast array of hits being performed for all that were in attendance and the ears of the people that can hear from outside on fairgrounds like “Crank It Up”, “Crickets” and “High Life” from the new album “Thanks For Listening”.  Not to mention classic hits like “Driving Around”, Chicken and Biscuits” and “Ride Through The Country”.

Colt performed Eminem’s “Lose Yourself” with a twist of country to, and then ended his performance with a powerful rendition of “Dirt Road Anthem”. With American flag and riffle microphone stand in the air Colt thanked everyone in attendance for being there with him.

Now for me as someone that has dealt with hip-hop for most of my career, this was a great show. Anyone that wants a new sound to fall into can dive into to any of Colt Ford’s albums. “Thanks For Listening” is out now everywhere through Average Joes Entertainment.
