Prevail From Swollen Members Announces The West Coast Renaissance Tour With Kyprios From Sweatshop Union (@PrevailPrevail @SwollenMembers @Kyprios12)

Prevail from legendary hip-hop trio Swollen Members has announced the dates for his upcoming co-headlining West Coast Renaissance Tour with Kyprios from Sweatshop Union. The tour will kick off in November and run through December with support from Prada West, Indelible, Neph, and J. Dohe. Prevail has been teasing his upcoming new project “Alpha Omega” online at that is scheduled for release in early 2015.

“I’ve been working in the studio on some new solo tracks, and the new material is insanely high energy. With Madchild out on the road in support of his amazing new solo record and Rob taking some time off to build a brand new studio and work on beats, now just felt like the perfect time to embark on a solo tour,” commented Prevail. “I’m blessed to have some incredibly talented emcees out with me on this tour, and I’ve known my brother Kyprios for years since we put out Sweatshop Union’s old albums on Battleaxe Records back in the day. I’m excited to get out on the road and perform tracks off my ‘Spasefase’ EP, some classic tracks, and I have a few surprises planned for these shows.”

I’ve put many miles on the odometer with Prev, always astounded by his on onstage ferocity, his energy and capacity to control a crowd,” commented Kyprios. “I’m hoping to steal some games of cribbage off him on the road.”

Prevail is one half of one of Canada’s top selling hip-hop acts of all-time in Swollen Members. During his career Swollen Members have amassed an impressive back-catalog of albums, sold more than a million albums worldwide, four Juno Awards for Best Rap Recording, and four Much Music Video Awards including wins for best rap video and best independent video. Kyprios has been a cornerstone for live hip hop since his ‘Mic Tease’ EP dropped in 2000. Writing songs from the ground up, Kyprios is known for his infectious melodies, thought provoking lyrics and his elaborate live performance. He is a founding member of Sweatshop Union. The industry has taken notice through a variety of affirmations: 2 solo Juno nominations, 2 Juno nominations with Sweatshop Union, a Gemini nomination, plus Jessie and Betty wins for writing music for theatre. Kyp was signed to Sony, releasing ‘Say Something’ in 2004 and has been independent since 2008, releasing ’12:12′ shortly thereafter. In 2011, Kyp released a song about his beloved Vancouver Canucks entitled ‘How The West Was One,’ propelling him into a performance inside Rogers arena, prior to the puck being dropped in game one of the Stanley Cup Finals. Kyp continues to tour and was recently back in the USA promoting his most recent offering ‘The Midnight Sun.’ He has made numerous appearances in television and film and is one of the voices for Michael Jordan’s website

Neph has emerged as a rising star in the Vancouver hip-hop scene, after he dropping his critically acclaimed EP “The Black Box” to rave reviews. Hip-Hop Canada proclaimed that Neph was “like a prize fighter in the ring. He pins the beat up against the ropes and unleashes with flurries of rhymes giving it no chance to breathe.
