Em Whid (Dive Bar Beauty Queen)
from Ink Mafia Mob Squad and Moonshine Bandits Music Video
Rebel Row: Introduce yourself and tell Rebel Row readers a bit about why you make the perfect Rebel…
Em Dollface Whid: I think I make the perfect rebel because I love living life to the fullest and doing what makes me happy I am a tattoo artist, a career most people don’t approve of and I have never been happier. I feel the rebel of every story deep down has the biggest heart and I definitely have a huge heart.
RR: You’ve professed your love for outlaw country music. Tell us a bit about what turned you onto Outlaw Country Music and what artists you’re into?
Em: I always had a love for 80’s rap which is super random. I like country significantly as well. The outlaw country has a huge mixture of both these types of music. I love the lax, colt ford, and ambiguously my boys the MSB.
RR: You are a big fan of the Moonshine Bandits, where you won the 2013 Dive Bar Beauty Queen contest. Tell us a bit about that experience and what it meant for you to win for the entire Shiner Nation.
EM: I really wanted to win the dive bar contest because I knew I could properly represent the boys. I’ve been a promotional model for years and was excited to help! I hope I rep shinier nation well and show all women are beautiful.
RR: There is a huge movement in country that is melding together country and hip-hop, which critics have dubbed “hick-hop”. What do you think of the movement and the melding of the two genres?
Em: I think it’s a great idea. It is a fun music gene and people are loving it. It brings something fun and different and more and more people are opening up to their style.
RR: What song is on your iPod right now and why?
Em: Naturally dive bar beauty queen. I love that song because there are few songs out there about bad ass females!!
RR: You have a ton of sick looking tattoos. Tell us about your first tattoo experience…
Em: My first tattoo ever was a flower in my back. It is in honor of my grandfather who I loved dearly and he grew lilies for my grandmother.
RR: Tell us a bit about the tattoos that you have and what they mean to you..
Em: I have a lot of tattoos but they are the story of my life. I have a steaming bird for my grandpa who worked on cars with his birthday in a pocket watch. I have a steam punk tea pot for my mother who collects tea pots. I have a bird cage on my inner arm because when I was little I got a bird and he always interested me and how I grew up and spread my wings. I got my stage name “Doll Face” tattooed on the backs of my legs. A got a creepy leg sleeve with skulls, lanterns, roses and much more. I also have a pair of high heels on my foot to show my girly side, and amazing grace on my collar because I’m religious. A mouse skull on my leg. My grandmother’s portrait on my arm because she was my biggest influence and my cat’s portrait on my inner arm because I had a rough year and she brought me a lot of joy in a much needed time.
RR: What advice do you have for choosing tattoos?
Em: Find something you will love even ten years from now.
RR: Are you into cars at all? What do you currently drive?
Em: Yes I currently drive a jeep which is great in these Ohio winters!
RR: If you could buy any car what would you buy?
Em: A classic Nova.
RR: You were into modeling and even were a Maxim girl at one point. Tell us about that and what is it like being a Maxim girl?
Em: I remember finding out I made it. I cried. It was literally the best day of my life. I felt so beautiful then.
RR: You are involved with the Ink Mafia Mob Squad modeling agency. Tell us about it and how you got involved…
Em: I created the mob squad to show that there can be a beautiful tattooed girl next door. To show beauty comes in all shapes, sizes, and races. We do a lot of charity and community work and do our best to help others.
RR: Here is your chance to plug your website and let us know everything you’re currently working on….

RR: What qualities do you think make someone a perfect Rebel?
Em: I think someone who cares about others. Someone who isn’t afraid to question things and ask why. Someone that is willing to bend the rules for the better of another and out themselves on the line to improve life for others. Someone who loves life and having fun!
